Ptolemaic Period, Circa 305-30 BC

Description:  Very attractive and dramatic Osirian Triad plaque amulet featuring in strong relief the frontal figures of goddesses Isis and Nephthys flanking Horus-the-Child who is naked and wears the side lock. Integral attachment loop on the reverse. 

Background: The order of the goddesses is sometimes reversed and the figures can be in profile or frontal poses.  The amulet is most often found on the lower torso, sometimes more than one example on a single mummy.

Height:  1.5 in. (3.8 cm)

Condition:  Complete and intact as shown.  Integral suspension loop intact on reverse.  Nice sharp detail with smooth blue-green glaze. Very pleasing example.

Provenance:  Ex-private North London, UK collection assembled primarily during the second half of 20th century.
