Description: Large hammered bronze ribbed libation bowl with central omphalos. The rim is slightly flared outward and is decorated with a pattern of several incised lines.
Diameter: 7.0 in. (18.0 cm)
Condition: Some surface deposits, otherwise intact and very good.
Provenance: Formerly in the personal collection of distinguished Harvard-educated Byzantine scholar Carroll Wales (1918-2007).
